Abstract

The article is devoted to the search for ways to improve the processes of differentiated regulation of the banking sector of the Russian Federation based on a risk-based approach. It substantiates a differentiation criterion from the Bank of Russia used today by credit organizations, based on an assessment of the riskiness of their activities - a credit rating. It was revealed that the amount of capital does not guarantee the bank to be in a low-risk group, which confirms the research hypothesis. The work revealed that there is practically no connection between the absolute value of the level of capital and the value of the credit rating. The credit institutions operating in Russia were ranked into three groups based on their credit rating. Based on the analysis of the obtained groups, their characteristics are obtained, on the basis of which it is advisable to build differentiated regulation. It is concluded that it is advisable to use this criterion in the process of differentiated regulation of the banking sector.
