ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF APPLICATION OF SIMULATION MODELS IN STRATEGIC PLANNING OF THE REGION

Abstract

Timely acceptance of the correct decisions in case of change of an economic situation and framing of rational options of economic policy is one of the principal conditions of effective management of the region. Effective management, in turn, cannot be provided without strategic planning base on simulation.

The review of opportunities of application of simulation models for regional strategic planning with specifying of the main merits and demerits is provided in article. The main objectives of strategic planning which may be solved by means of technology of simulation are revealed and also methods and software by means of which simulation models are realized are described.
